The beating heart of the F-TYPE is equipped with a mechanical supercharger. Power is supplied by a range of four highly advanced engines: 3.0 V6 340HP, 3.0 V6 380HP, 5.0 V8 495HP, and 5.0 V8 550HP. Each is fitted with Roots-type superchargers mounted on top of the "V" engine, maintaining its compact dimensions. Jaguar is a leader in mechanical supercharging technologies. These allow for smooth power delivery and strong acceleration at any engine RPM, reducing the delay between the driver's request for power and the engine's response.

The F-TYPE roars from the heart. Its sporty exhaust system powerfully growls from the start, creating a race car-inspired crescendo. An active sporty exhaust system is standard on certain F-TYPE models. It uses an active valve that allows exhaust gases to flow more directly, thus creating a deep, dramatic sound. The controlled active exhaust system permits direct control of the system. It is offered on certain F-TYPE versions and is standard on the F-TYPE R.

The F-TYPE transmission Quickshift operates quickly, like lightning, and is exceptionally refined. Eight closely spaced gears allow the engine to operate in its most efficient RPM range, always delivering optimal power and torque. The selectable Dynamic mode provides more adrenaline by increasing accelerator sensitivity and altering the gear selection strategy, further highlighting the character of the sports car.
