Kia K5

The 2021-2022 Kia K5 GT with the 2.5-liter turbocharged engine can have the oil pump drive pulley separate from the oil pump shaft, causing a sudden loss of engine oil pressure. Symptoms include a low oil-pressure warning light, ticking or knocking from the engine, and possible loss of power or stalling. Continuing to drive after the warning can result in severe internal engine damage and a potential crash due to sudden power loss. Kia recalled these vehicles under NHTSA campaign 22V248000 and repaired the oil pump assembly free of charge.
